Set-up
The following steps will allow you to set up your Service Minder to easily identify new customers each year and returning customers each year.
- Create a Tag like ‘New-Customer’
- Create a new tag like ‘Existing-Customer’
- Create a drip trigger that triggers on Contact Added
and set the action to add Tag and add the ‘New-Customer’ tag.
- Go to the Contacts Module at the top and clear any filters so that you see ALL contacts
- Use the Actions button in the top right and select Add tag
- Select the ‘New-Customer’ tag and click Add
- Go to the Appointments Module at the top
- Select All at the top
- Clear any filters
Click on Filter builder and create a filter as shown on completed appointments where the scheduled date is before 1/1 of the current year
- Use the ‘Actions’ button at the top right to remove tag. And remove the ‘New-Customer tag.
- While the filter is still in place use the ‘Actions’ button at the top right to Add Tag and add the ‘Existing-Customer’ tag
Identify First Time Customers
- Go to your Contacts Module at the top of Service Minder
- Clear all filters
- Click on Filter at the top and select ONLY the tag ‘New-Customer’ and click apply
- Click on the key next to the word ‘Category’ and select ‘Current Customer’
The resulting set is of Current Customers that have never had service before this year
Identifying Returning Customers
- Go to your Contacts Module at the top of Service Minder
- Clear all filters
- Click on Filter at the top and select ONLY the tag ‘Existing-Customer’ an click apply
- Click on the key next to the word ‘Category’ and select ‘Current Customer’
The resulting set is of Current Customers that have had service before this year
Yearly Maintenance
At the end of each season:
- Go to your Contacts Module at the top of Service Minder
- Clear all filters
- Click on Filter at the top and select ONLY the tag ‘New-Customer’ and click apply
- Click on the key next to the word ‘Category’ and select ‘Current Customer’
The resulting set is of Current Customers that have never had service before this year
- Using the Actions button at the top right Add tag and add the ‘Existing-Customer’ Tag
- Using the Actions button at the top right Remove tag and remove the ‘New-Customer’ tag.
You will now be all set to have it work going into your next season.
