Each location can create and delete tags as needed. They are designed to be somewhat temporary and used for creating and acting upon lists.
First Option
1 - Create a Drip Trigger that triggers on appointment completion. This trigger sets a tag for '2022 Customer' ( Change it each year around this time)
That is it. This will ensure that anyone you actually service is tagged as a customer, and all you need to do is remember to change the tag each year.
Second Option
1 - Create a Drip Trigger that triggers on appointment completion for a specific service. This trigger sets a tag for '2022 (service type) Customer' ( Change it each year around this time
2 - Create the above for each service you offer that you want to tag. Examples would be 'Traditional,' 'Natural,' 'Platinum,' and 'Event.'
To tag your customers for the past year, please follow these steps.
1 Go to Appointments at the top of SM
2 Select 'All' at the top
3 verify you have no filter in place, and if you do, clear it out
4 Use the 'Filter' button at the top to limit it to the service or services you want the tag to be set for. You can also put the date range 1/1/xxxx to 12/31/xxxx in this filter and hit apply.
5 Click on the small 'Key' next to 'Status' and select only 'Completed.'
6 Click on 'Actions' in the top right and select 'Add Tag.'
7 Enter the new tag (I recommend creating a tag here rather than selecting a tag that may be misapplied and applying it to this result set as well) and click Add
8 Repeat the above for any combination of services/tags you want to apply
Finally, convert your 'Current Customer' contacts to 'Historical Customers.'
1 Go to Contacts across the top and verify that you do NOT have any filters in place
2 Click 'Filters' at the top
3 Click the 'Categories' and verify it says 'Contains' at the top and select only 'Current Customer' and click Apply
4 Click Actions in the top right corner and select 'Update.'
5 Select 'Historical Customer' from the Categories dropdown and click 'Update'
